Reiki for Animals
Reiki for Animals
Lori Wright is an animal communicator, and one of my first guest authors. It is a delight to share Lori's expertise of Reiki for Animals and animal communication. That's right!
Animal Communication
Lori is a professional Animal Communicator where she lives in the Lake County area of Northern California with her husband, daughter, and their animal family.
Lori has always loved animals and had the sense that she just 'knew' what her animals were thinking and they wanted.
Have you ever felt this way? I sure have. When I am near my dogs, I have a very strong sense of their feelings and thoughts. I'm sure many of you share this experience.
A little more about Lori Wright and Animal Reiki
Lori received her Associate of Science in Natural Resources and was just about to finish her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology when her path diverted and she began training to become a Reiki Master and later an Animal Communicator. It was no coincidence that her interest in wildlife conservation, reiki energy work, and the mental telepathy of animal communication that would lead her down this service path. Her latest path of education is towards the medical intuitive and holistic practitioner path, which she believes will serve her in this intuitive field of Reiki body work. Read what Lori has to say about this interesting topic nad how Reiki can be offered from a distance.

Reiki for Animals
Although the practice of Reiki has been around for a long time and is becoming more accepted, many people might not know that Reiki is also very effective for our animal friends, particularly those who have suffered emotional trauma.
Reiki for Animals-What it is like?
During a hands-on session, Reiki energy moves into and through the hands of the practitioner and blends with the energy in and around the client. With animals, the specific hand placement is not as important; this is where I put my intuitive process into concert with the animal’s body and allow my hands to go where it feels they need to be.
That being said, I will continue to move my hands through the energy centers or “chakra system” of the body to balance the energy. Working the energy centers can bring about profound clearing of energy blocks in the body. The practice of Reiki over the years has helped improve my intuitive process and scanning the body for changes in temperature or feel.
Reiki for Animals
As I start a session with an animal, I always “offer” Reiki at a distance and let the animal come to me when the animal decides to. Reiki practitioners only receive energy from “source” and then offer it; Reiki is never forced, it is when the animal or person is receptive to accept the energy that healing can occur.
Reiki for Animals-Distance Healing
I want to note here that Reiki can be sent over a distance as well; I was taught that with this type energy there is no space or time issue, so the client need not be present to experience this powerful energy. Sending distance Reiki is similar to a focused form of telepathic communication and the results can be truly amazing.
As an animal communicator, I often get requests from clients to send distance Reiki. The power of Reiki has improved
my telepathic abilities and allowed me to work more deeply with my clients and their animal families.
Reiki for Animals and Emotional Trauma
Reiki works well with animals that have experienced emotional trauma. Distance Reiki is quite helpful in these situations, as an animal that may be distrustful about a hands on session will very often gladly accept the healing energy offered from a distance. You can read about the results of Leelu and Larry on my website http://www.healingheartstrings.com/reiki.htm
Reiki for Animals: What else you should know
Reiki Practitioners do not diagnose health issues or take the place of a veterinarian or doctor. Veterinarians and doctors who offer a holistic approach to companion animal care are recognizing Reiki benefits and are currently being offered in many hospitals. Ask your veterinarian or doctor about Reiki. Worth noting, is the emotional comfort that has been experienced while undergoing cancer care or those in hospice situations.
