Natural Weight Loss Treatment

Natural Weight Loss Treatment
Take a walk down the aisle of any store that sells supplements and you'll see several shelves devoted to weight loss miracle drugs. Oh, if only they did what they claim because over 65% of Americans are either overweight or obese.
This is simply because we eat more calories than our body can use. We don't exercise them away. These calories get stored up as fat. This means that many of us are at higher risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, serious joint break down, cancer and more. So, what can we do? What are some natural weight loss treatments?
Let's see if you are over weight or obese. One way to classify health by weight is through calculating a body Mass Index (BMI). You don't need to do any math here, so relax. Take a look at this chart from the National Institute of Health and then come right back.
Natural Weight Loss Treatment begin with knowing your BMI. What is your BMI and is it a healthy number?

Another indication of health risks associated with weight is waist measurement. This is because we've learned that those with a larger waist have a higher incidence of diabetes and other diseases. If you carry your weight around your hips and thighs, you're lucky! I'm sure you never felt 'lucky' about it, but although you carry extra weight, it isn't as bad as if you carried it around your belly.
Simply take a measuring tape and put it around your waist while holding onto one end. Bend from side to side and let the tape get itself into position. See what the number is.
Women with a waist measurement of more than 35 inches or men with a waist measurement of more than 40 inches may have a higher disease-especially heart disease- risk than people with smaller waist measurements because of where their fat lies.

Natural Weight Loss Treatment 6 Tips to Cut Back on Calories
1. keep track of what you eat. Eat with Awareness. Take a look at my #1 weight loss secret!
2. Use smaller plates. This is a simple natural weight loss treatment anyone can do. It is too tempting to fill up a huge plate. Don't think you are getting jipped here because in reality, our portion sizes have been getting bigger and bigger and bigger. By using a smaller plate, you are simply eating what you should be. (Yes, a larger plate encourages OVER-eating.
3. If you don't want to use a smaller plate or don't have access to one (like at a restaurant) go ahead and take away about 1/4 to 1/2 of the serving. No willpower to do this? I can relate. Ask the server to box up 1/4 to 1/2 of it for a take home bag. That way you won't be tempted.
4. Eat healthy snacks to avoid that all or nothing 'ready to eat everything in site' hunger. Good snacks are raisins, grapes and other fruits, carrots, almonds (no fancy sugar coated kind) and other healthy foods in small to moderate quantities. I like the Kashi snack bars-high in fiber so they're filling. They taste good and are generally a pretty good choice. Find snacks that fit into your own natural weight loss treatment plan.

5. Get moving. 30 minutes 3-5X a week is a great start.
6. Discover why you over-eat and don't exercise. There is usually at least one very good reason, but it may not be real obvious until you stop, settle down and decide to be honest with yourself. Food comforts us and works as medicine. Any medicine becomes toxic in too large a quantity. So, do you eat for anger, sadness, frustration, to hide, to guarantee failure, to be a victim, out of hopelessness... Sometimes awareness is all it takes. Be ready for that 'lightbulb' moment. Consult a therapist to talk to and get some guidance, life coach to be accountable to, a friend to confide in, or a group for support. Any and all can be very helpful.
