Natural Exercise

Optimal Natural Health requires Exercise-Natural Exercise!

Some of us really enjoy exercise, but there are probably more that do not. The key to enjoying exercise is to find what you enjoy doing, and don't get stuck in a rut.

Maybe you prefer fast paced, energetic, competitive sports. Tennis might be a good choice. Find a local beginners group if you are new. You'll meet new friends and find out that you are not the only one scared out of your wits to try something new with people you've never met.

Maybe you tend to be more of a loner and like to set your own pace. Walking or swimming might be for you. Even golf and bowling can be very peaceful if you like to venture out on your own a bit. I sometimes like to just go and practice all by myself. I try to walk as much as I can since every little bit helps. If you like to participate with groups, you can do that too! The choices are limitless.

Need a bit more flexibility in your life? Yoga and pilates are good choices.

Feeling a little weak? Start picking up some weights. Get some help with this and all sports so that you don't accidentally hurt yourself. Be sure you are in tip top shape (for you) and get the stamp of approval before starting any exercise program.

An optimal natural healthy lifestyle is about aerobic exercise (using oxygen), flexibility and strength. Yes, all THREE! See what you can do to incorporate all of these. Why?

1. You will make your heart and lungs happier, and they'll work harder and longer for you.

2. Physical activity helps you to keep strong bones. Osteoporosis is the cause of many problems for people. Don't be a statistic. Picking up some weights, using bands or any other strength training exercise can help with this.

3. Exercise helps you to maintain a healthy weight. Not at a healthy weight right now? Check out these pages:

Are you suffering with Depression? Suffer no more!

Natural Exercise
Why is it SO Imnportant?

5. Exercise is known to decrease stress and depression. It even helps lessen pain because of the 'happy' hormones that your body produces when you exercise.

6. Your risk for colon, breast, prostate, uterine and even other types of cancer can be reduced with physical activity.

7. Moderate exercise (stop about 3 hours before bedtime) can help you to unwind and sleep better. Sleep is an important part of an natural healthy lifestyle.

8. Having a workout buddy can help you to stay motivated and will make you get out of bed to exercise when you really, really don't want to. If you can, hire a personal trainer to get some professional guidance and support. As always, be sure to get the okay from your healthcare provider before you start, though.
