Natural Aphrodisiacs

Natural Aphrodisiacs

Love potions (one kind of aphrodisiac) are supposed to enhance sexual success and fertility. Named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of sexual love and beauty, Aphrodite, is how the term 'aphrodisiac' came about.

Natural Aphrodisiacs: What is an aphrodisiac?

An aphrodisiac is a food, drink, drug, scent, or device that promoters claim, can arouse or increase sexual desire, also known as libido. Certain behaviors can be aphrodisiacs, also.

Some of food sexual stimulants includes anchovies, adrenaline, licorice, lard, scallops and Spanish fly, and hundreds of other items. A broader definition includes products that improve sexual performance.

The reputed sexual effects of aphrodisiacs, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are based in folklore, not fact. In 1989, the agency declared that there is no scientific proof that any over-the-counter aphrodisiacs work to treat sexual dysfunction. Many people would disagree.

What most would agree with, however, is that just the word, aphrodisiac, is enough to get attention! For as long as time, just about every culture has used some kind of substance or acts to add a little zest into the sex life. Some aren't real safe, though. There are plenty that carry low risk, though.

Natural Aphrodisiacs-Seductions in a bottle: Pheromones

Certain phermones, chemicals that are secreted in our sweat and other bodily fluids are natural sexual attractants. Pheromones aren't noticed consciously, but we are attracted to the odor of other people based on aromas. Mammals and other animals secrete pheromones, and scientists have long known that they influence mating habits. For humans, the pheromones probably mean more than voice, clothing, and other aspects of sexual attraction.

On March 21, 2002, ABC News reported that scientists at San Francisco State University found that women who had pheromone added to their perfume reported a more than 50% increase in sexual attention from men. The study, which was published in the Journal of Physiology and Behavior, found that 74% of the women saw an overall increase in 3 or more of the following socio-sexual behaviors: frequency of dates, kissing, heavy petting and affection, sexual intercourse, and sleeping closer to their partner.

Perfumes are based on this knowledge, but aren't natural pheromones. Are you interested in trying natural pheromones? You can try natural, effective pheromones for less than a new outfit costs. Ready to give it a try?

Natural Aphrodisiacs: Let's Make a List

** Pheromones

** Be a good listener. Remember to first understand and then be understood. Ask questions to let your beloved know you are interested and listening.

** Show affection openly. Foreplay can begin early in the day by showing intimacy, love, kindness and interest.

** Certain erotic reading materials, movies, and scenarios

** Dress in a way that makes you feel sensuous. If you feel confident and sexy, you will be and feel more attractive.

** Selectivity (being choosy) is more attractive to others than someone who is not selective. Research has shown this to be true.
** Kava Kava is sometimes used, however it hasn't been shown to be effective.

** Damiana is another herb that is sometimes used, but it hasn't been shown to be effective as an aphrodisiac.

** Exercise is not only good for your body and mind, it can leave you feeling good and in the mood for love. The reason has less to do with getting stronger than with the release of endorphins (responsible for runner's high) in the brain (as a result of physical exertion) that influence how we feel. Research has shown that women who exercise regularly tend to have more active sex lives, are more easily aroused, and reach orgasm more quickly than those who don't work out.

** Chocolate An Aphrodisiac? Chocolate was thought to have aphrodisiac qualities by the Aztecs, and the rumor has continued. Chocolate contains substances called Phenylethylamine and Seratonin which are mood lifting agents found naturally in the human brain. These substances can cause euphoria usually associated with being in love.
