Three Great Reasons to Eat Eggs

Three Great Reasons to Eat Eggs
Starting your day with some type of egg dish can help you to feel 'satisfied' a lot longer than a big bowl of cereal. Have you ever noticed this? You can feel full a lot longer because eggs are loaded with protein and other nutrients, and protein takes longer to digest. Therefore, you feel full longer.
During my typical work day, I start around 7:45Am and my lunch break will be around 2pm or later. That is a long time to go without eating! I noticed that if I eat eggs in the morning, I don't feel quite so hungry while I'm at work.
Egg Fear
Let's address the egg fear before we even talk about the benefits of eggs. We all probably know that eggs were declared an enemy because of their high cholesterol content. A diet high in cholesterol can lead to heart disease and other problems.
Here is some good news!
In 1999, a study at the Harvard School of Public health found that if you eat more than one egg per day, the danger of heart attack or stroke didn't go up. In 2000, a Michigan State study found that the cholesterol in your blood was actually lower in those who ate more than four eggs a week than those who didn't eat eggs at all! It is believed and widely accepted by the medical community, that unless you have heart disease already, diabetes or high bad cholesterol (LDL), you can safely eat one egg a day. Be aware of what you eat along with those eggs, though. There is a lot of cholesterol in bacon, sausage, and fried potatoes.
Three Big Benefits of Eating Eggs
Increase Your Energy!
Protein in your diet gives you energy. One large chicken egg has about 7 grams of protein, which means that 2 eggs have about 30% of the recommended daily allowance for women. If protein is a part of every meal or snack, you'll find that you just not as hungry as usual.
Lose Weight!
Louisiana State University studied eggs in 2007 found that eating eggs helped people to lose weight because they felt more satiety. Since they weren't feeling hungry, they ate less and found it easier to stick to a healthy low calorie diet.
