What costs can cost billions ($100 billion annually!) in lost work and medical expenses and be as much to blame for car accidents as drunk driving?


If you guessed sleep deprivation you are correct! I don't even want to put all the blame on insomnia, because even one drowsy can do some real harm.

Sleep deprivation is what happens when a person doesn't get enough sleep. When sleep deprivation becomes a more common thing, it can be insomnia. New parents can be sleep deprived for a very long time, but most people generally experience this for short periods of time-or so we thought! In truth, in america, many of us don't sleep unitl there is nothing else to do. We squeeze a little sleep (often 5-6 hours) into our busy days as if it isn't important at all.

How do you know if you are Sleep Deprived? Many of us are just so accustomed to that tired, worn out feeling that we don't realize it is unusual. So, how do you know? Will you wake up naturally without the alarm clock going off? If the answer is 'NO WAY' then you may well be sleep deprived.
