Health care practitioners call is 'sleep hygiene.' Basically sleep hygeine are the things you can do to build up to a good night's sleep. Following a few natural sleep tips that can help you avoid some pretty bad side effects of sleep deprivation.

Make sure your Room is Dark and Comfortably Cool
No TV or Computer in your room-your bed should be for 2 things only: sleep and sex
Wear nonrestricting and nonallergenic clothing
Try to go to sleep and get up at the same time daily (if you are a nightshift worker, try to keep that schedule on
your days off)
Use white noise if the silence is deafenning or if there are other distracting noises
Wake gently-if you need an alarm clock, use one that starts low and slowly gets louder. Be kind-choose a pleasant noise or song of your liking. No need to start your day off with a startle.
Stop the caffeine early in the day, if you drink caffeine and avoid sugar
You may have to sleep in a different location than your snoring significant other
Be sure you get enough exercise,but not within a few hours (at least) of wanting to sleep. You'll just be too fired up.
Avoid loud and anxiety provoking activities or TV prior to going to sleep-give yourself as much time as you need for
s'quiet time.' That means turning off the TV or computer much earlier in the evening.
Provide yourself some purposeful, quiet time-gentle yoga stretching, prayer or meditation
Journaling can be helpful-keep a gratitude journal or simply document your day and when you close the book-REALLY
close the book and let it go. This is a symbolic act that works wonders-let he worries go for awhile.
Keep a regular routine-try to do the same everynight-brush, wash, change, pray...
