Imagine how hard your brain works. If you did imagine it, you just gave it a bit more work! It never rests and is constantly flooded with tons of information and impulses. It's not just an 'INBOX' either. it sends messages out just as fast. Our neurological system is a complex send and receive system with neurotransmitters scurring about to do the job.

1. Practice StressBusters of your choice-routinely and regularly
2. Limit or omit alcohol consumption
3. Challenge yourself daily-puzzles, games...
4. Put away the remote control-read a book
5. Connect with others- our relationships (people and animals) keep us focused
6. Learn something new daily, whether it is a new word or something bigger like a new language
7. Practice affirmations daily-our minds believe what we tell them is true. The Imagery-Visualization pages can give you plenty of guidance. If you aren't familiar with this, you may be passing up some wonderful opportunities.
8. Keeping a journal of one's day including posts about gratitude help to keep the mind sharp and the heart soft.
9. Learn to love spontaneity
10. Keep busy, but not crazy busy. Your mind needs 'quiet time' also (see #1 for some helpful hints about stressbusters.
11. Have fun, laugh and play (I like to go to parks and swing on the swings. The feel of the breeze through my hair and the rise and fall of the swing are invigorating-so are the memories of my childhood.
