Now that you know how important it is to eat more whole foods, along with a variety of antioxidants, you may be interested in supplements. Many of us try to eat healthy diets and still need supplementation to be at our best. Some us don't come close to a healthy diet (you know who you are!) and supplementation is a MUST. I supplement because my eating habits are not perfect. We're busy, and we need help. Lucky for us, there are some good ones out there.
I am familiar with several, and there is one I recommend for general use. I've taken it for over 10 years, and can openly recommend it. There are a variety of products for adults and kids.

Optimal holistic nutrition does not require calorie counting. Would you like to be sure that you are eating enough fiber, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, vitamins, antioxidants, Omega 3 Fatty Acids and so on? How about an easy way to do this that doesn't take a lot of time?
How about a way to see a diagram showing you just how good you've been over days, weeks and even months?
Would a diary of your moods help you to take notice of the foods that help you to feel better or feel worse.
Would a free way to achieve this even make you feel better?
Click here or on the food pyramid to see an easy way to keep track of your nutrient intake, your calories eaten and your calories used with exercise. This is a must have for anyone really wanting to make changes in their life.

Antioxidants are key to a healthy holistic lifestyle. We can get antioxidants from a variety of foods, but we don't always get enough.
Why you MUST take action!
Research tells us that many common diseases are the result of low levels of antioxidants in the body tissues and/or in the diet. If you think about it, your body tissues can't possibly have enough antioxidants if you are not providing them. You may consider yourself well-nourished, but if you are not eating enough of the foods with rich in vitamins A, E and C and selenium and zinc, you may be malnourished and not realize it.
Some diseases associated with low antioxidants include, but are not limited to:
Heart Disease
Alzheimer's Disease
Infertility
Respiratory Infections
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Some Cancers
Mental Illness
Premature aging (Although this is not a disease, it is certainly something most of us want to avoid.)

My chiropracter used a massager to help loosen those oh, so tight muscles on my back. He only spent a few minutes, but it was so awesome, that my husband surprised me with one of my own. We use it regularly. It is sometimes the best way to loosen the tight muscles before work in the morning and after a tough day. You can have one, too! Just click on the image below. Helpful Holistic Medicine: Get Moving!
We all can't make it to the health club; some of us don't want to go and yet we need a little guidance. I like to exercise with a variety of DVDs so I can choose depending on my mood. I've got an extensive list of some you might find interesting. There are some for yoga, stretch, pilates, tae bo, and some for specific target areas such as abdomen and buns.
A Few of my favorites:
Billy Blanks for Tae Bo. He is encouraging, yet tough. Get ready for a very good workout no matter which DVD you choose.
I like many of the yoga DVDs and I've tried out many. The Crunch DVDs are all good, but if you are looking for the peaceful, breathful type of yoga, this isn't a good choice. If you are new to yoga, choose a beginning one, because it is important that you do it right.
I recently reviewed Yoga Express and this is a good beginning and beyond DVD. She explains things very well and there are a variety of routines to choose from from 10-25 minutes. The sound is a bit off, but you get used to it.
I like the DVDs with pretty scenery, especially if it is the beach. Rodney Yee has filmed in Maui, which is one of my favorite places. I feel like I'm right there with him.
For a little different kind of scenery, take a look at Brian Kest's DVDs. They are more advanced, but he does a great job of explaining things and stressing the importance of working at your own pace, leaving the ego at the door and gentle stretch.
If you've never tried Kundalini yoga, go for it. You won't regret it!
No matter which DVD I watch for yoga, I light candles, turn off the phones and give myself that time of relaxation.
Don't forget about the kids, now. I've included some children's exercise and yoga DVDs. Learning to breathe and calm the mind and spirit does wonders for all us, including children.
My absolute favorite toning and shaping DVDs are Tamilee Webb's. I really like the Science of Fitness: I Want THAT Body. I've done it many, many times and I'm never tired of it.
Take a look at some of the fun and interesting exercise DVDs/Videos and Books!
