healthy well balanced meals and snacks
2. Stop Smoking-if you need help, talk with your healthcare provider. The medicines carry some risks, but not as much risk as smoking. Your healthcare provider than give you lots of helpful hints such as hypnosis, acupuncture, medications (OTC and prescriptions), massage and more. Watch for a new page on natural smoking cessation.
3. Get checked-see where your blood sugar and cholesterol numbers are. An ounce of prevention... Nobody wants a heart attack, stroke or any of those other dreadful problems.
4. Be sure and get the okay from your health care provider before beginning any exercise. While you are there, arrange to take care of any preventative testing-blood tests, physical exams, Pap tests, mammograms, colonoscopy...
5. Make small changes that you can live with. Once these changes have become 'habits' continue to improve by making more changes. No Hurry-No Worry can be your motto, but don't stop.
5. Find the best ways to
de-stress. We're all unique. Find
your best StressBuster(s)!
6. Get Moving! Find some things that you like to do to keep your body moving. Strive to get in the
zone because it is a great feeling physically, mentally and emotionally. Once you experience this, you'll want to keep moving.
7. Enlist friends to support and move right along side you. Most people do better with the support and prodding of someone else. It also holds us accountable.
8. Surround yourself with other health-conscious individuals. It will rub off.
9. Get enough rest. Many of us are sleep deprived. (more to follow about sleep and rest on this website, so stay tuned)
